seriously, how do you guys think Snape will be redeemed (if he is ) in book 7? will he hold voldemort for harry to kill or whatever... plus do you guys think snape will survive book 7? why do i get the feeling that won't be the case?
hey, how come JKR (www.jkrowling.com) doesn't list Sycophant Hex as on of the fan websites? hehe... wonder if she realises the existence of Ashwinder. maybe we should let her know, she might think it's a good idea and incorporate it into book 7.. hehehe
heck, maybe she might add some fics to Ashwinder... PWP, mosst likely. or not. great, i'm talking crap again. anyways..........

Your idea about informing J.K. Rowling about ashwinder is great
I think you are right: Snape will not survive Book 7, but better die as a hero than as a traitor. |

I think he will probably die saving Harry in book 7
A less probable scenario is Snape showing up to the next order meeting with Dumbledore at his side. |

I do not believe JKR would be thrilled with the idea of fans writing porn about Hermione/Snape. At all. Of all the authors I've found who don't mind fanfic, only one has come right out and said he doesn't mind the porn, and that's Neil Gaiman. (Thank you, Mr G, from the bottom of my heart. Mmm.)
So I realise you were probably joking, but informing JKR deliberately of our presence may be extremely unwise.
That aside, I think Snape's a goner. Sure, maybe he's an uber-double-super-tricksy agent for the Order, but he's killed Dumbledore. His redemption is so gone. No matter what the outcome, I think he's finished, and any redemption for him will be with his death. |

I'm reading Emerson and Melissa's interview with JKR and it doesn't look too good for the "Dumbledore planned for his own death" theory. Major suckage
http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/extras/aa-jointerview2.html
ES: Was Dumbledore planning to die?
JKR: [Pause.] Do you think that's going to be the big theory?
MA & ES: Yes. It’ll be a big theory.
JKR: [Pause.] Well, I don't want to shoot that one down. [A little laughter.] I have to give people hope.
MA: It goes back to the question of whether Snape is a double-double-double-triple-
JKR: [Laughs] Double-double-quadruple-to-the-power-of - yeah.
MA: …whether this had been planned, and since Dumbledore had this knowledge of Draco the whole year, had they had a discussion that said, "Should this happen, you have to act as if it is entirely your intention to just walk forward and kill me, because if you don't, Draco will die, the Unbreakable Vow, you'll die," and so on —
JKR: No, I see that, and yeah, I follow your line there. I can't — I mean, obviously, there are lines of speculation I don't want to shut down. Generally speaking, I shut down those lines of speculation that are plain unprofitable. Even with the shippers. God bless them, but they had a lot of fun with it. It's when people get really off the wall — it's when people devote hours of their time to proving that Snape is a vampire that I feel it's time to step in, because there's really nothing in the canon that supports that. |

Well, she said she shut down lines of speculation that weren't going anywhere, like saying Sirius was deader-than-dead and not coming back (except in memories, obviously).
But, if she likes the fact people are discussing Dumbledore's death, it could mean that there's more to it. She's not saying they planned it, but I think's she saying that if we keep thinking along these lines and discussing the theories, we might get close to what's happening...
But then again, she's not said very many conclusive things about Snape. She could just be diverting our attention awaay from what's really happening...
Damn you, JK!!! Hehe. |

I thought, even before HBP, that Snape would probably die in book 7, most likely saving Harry. Very sad, but there it is.
I still think that Snape is good, so I still think that Snape will die to save
Harry. And now that Harry reallyreallyreally hates Snape, I think that the revelation that Snape is still good is going to hit Harry like a ton of bricks. I suspect that Harry's actions will have something to do with Snape's death (in other words, that it will be Harry's fault that Snape dies, not just that Snape will die to save Harry). There's such wonderful angst in that. Provided that Harry can grow up enough to face facts. But if he can't, I'm not sure what the point of the whole thing would be.
Of course, it may be that Harry will simply kill an evil!Snape (even though he hasn't yet shown himself able to even competently duel with the man). I'd be rather disappointed by something that straightforward though.

I'm with Verity. I was definitely expecting Snape to die before this book came out. In fact, I was worried he might die IN this book. That said, at least I'm gonig to have 7 books with a character I love in them. But his chances of surviving the lucky number seven? Not a one.
Hmmm... That's odd. Seven books, seven is a magically powerful number... coincidence? |

Yes, and wasn't it odd that Snape was pointing out Harry's shortcomings during this duel? Almost as if he were still teaching him, preparing him, perhaps?
Seriously, he could have killed Harry. Easily. I think Snape's "Save him for the Dark Lord" nonsence may have been to keep Harry alive so he can do what he has to do. |

I thought that the final confrontation/fight between Harry and Voldemort would require Harry to recall what Snape told him in his very first Potions lessons: Snape answering the three questions he'd just posed Harry reminds me of fairy tales where the hero is asked a certain number of questions and then given the answers in order to succeed in his quest, in his rescue of the heroine. But Harry has already recalled about the bezoar. And in the confrontation with Snape in the Hogwarts grounds Snape is still teaching Harry more than only duelling with him.
I don't seem to be handling the end events, the two major losses, of this book, very well. |

Well certainly joking about JKR and Ashwinder. But I am more convinced than ever that Snape will not die as a traitor but also that he will die. There is a posting about the Snape/Lily shippers that seems to be quite logical. |

As much as I love the character of Snape, I have believed him doomed ever since GoF. This book just makes me more convienced that he will die in some "great act of redemption." Rather predictable overall. Then again, she has fooled us before.

I'm not sure.
I do think Snape was caught in a trick bag, I'm not sure he really knew the what Voldemort had assigned Draco to do and took the Unbreakable to alleviate Bellatrix's suspicions and to find out more on what the nature of Draco's "job" was. For all we know, he told Dumbledore what happened and he was fully aware of what might happen. After all he told Harry to follow his orders no matter what, he could have told Snape the same.
The whole scene with him and Dumbledore is oddly vague, with Dumbledore's only dialogue with Snape being, "Severus, please." What is he asking Snape to do? Is he pleading with Snape to put him out of his misery, the potion having done too much damage or maybe pleading for his life. |
