In the past few weeks, while in bed with the flu, I found a fanfic with Severus being a halfblood vampire, bound to the old ways. Hermione attempted to learn them, but her feeble attempts to copy what she saw Molly doing were taken to be a deadly insult.
Dumbledore had, with the help of the wizarding council, eradicated the teaching of the old ways.
This fic had a portrait of Dumbledore's sister, who had made a vow to only teach the old ways to one person, who was needed to communicate with the races bound by blood to the old ways, this person being Hermione.
Any help finding this fic would be lovely.
